Keane Southard Recital at Peru State College

Thursday morning at 11:00 on April 5 in the Fine Arts Recital Hall, Keane Southard, a pianist and composer performed for a small but appreciative group.

I continue to "experiment" with the lighting in our new and exceptional recital hall and posted some photographs of Keane's exciting performance.

After offering the audience informative introductions to the composers William Bolcom and Carter Pann, selections from whose work he played, Keane played five of his own
short compositions, "Five Preludes."

And you can hear view these five diverse and exciting selections.

As Keane's home page notes (and you can hear more of his music at the site), he presently serves as
composer-in-residence at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City, Nebraska, where he completes a new Piano Concerto commissioned by the Sounds of Stow Chorus and Orchestra.

And until April 20, you can become part of Keane's new project by making a small donation. Just go to the KickStarter page to learn a bit more by listing to Keane's video.

Keane recently got the good news that he earned a Fulbright Scholarship to study music next year in Brazil. Well done Keane Southard!
