Bill Snyder Retirement Banquet

On the Saturday, June 28, before I took off for Peru, South America, I had the great pleasure of attending Dr. Bill Snyder's Retirement Banquet.

Previously, on April 22, I went to Bill's retirement address to the college community and created a blog entry about this wonderful recounting of nearly forty years of Bill's enduring relationship with Peru State College.

Those who took part in the reception at President's house and then gathered for an evening of excellent food and fellowship enjoyed an exceptional evening of sharing with Bill Snyder their still (mostly) vivid memories dating back to Bill's days as a teen in Pawnee City.

Bill's daughter Amy and other family members put their hearts into the organization, affection that all in attendance appreciated. And Dan Holtz and Todd Drew provided serious fun in their talks that underscored the profound effect Bill Snyder exerted upon students and friends at Peru State College over the past forty years.

Bill will return often to campus and will serve this September 24 as the Grand Marshal for the annual Homecoming Parade.

At Bill Snyder's request--and a most flattering one--I created a video that features images of the college set to a song you will all recognize; you can enjoy the video on You Tube.

This video concluded the night's festivities; however, for the occasion, I also created a longer video--also available for your viewing on You Tube--with more pictures of the college and some footage our
Peruvian friends from South America took of the college from a helicopter.

We will all certainly miss Bill's daily presence on campus.
