Tom Ediger, Debra DeFrain, Jake Bartlett, and Ken Meints
On Tuesday evening at 7:30, February 5, in the Fine Arts Recital Hall, Music faculty members took part in the Spring 2013 Music Faculty Recital. The short and exciting performances--enjoy the photographs from the evening--featured Tom Ediger on piano, Debra DeFrain on piano, Jacob Bartlett's bass-baritone voice, and Ken Meints on trombone.
I recorded three pieces, beginning with Jacob Bartlett's rendition of one of the most famous of arias, Madamina! Il catalogo e qesto from Don Giovanni, one of the three pieces he perfomed. At the end of this posting, you will find the lyrics in English all about Don Juan's many "conquests." (Just click on the image to enlarge it.)
Next, you will find a video--all videos availablein HD--with two performances:
First, Ken Meints on trombone teamed with Tom Ediger on piano--Tom got a workout, for he accompanied all the performances--piano. Ken Meints played Concertino for Trombone.
And then Tom Ediger and Debra Defrain played a stirring duet on the piano, Celebration Overture.
