October 16:  I returned to the Oak Bowl this afternoon, and not just because I enjoy wearing a bright vest and a hard hat, which are both pretty cool, but because today the carpet got completely installed.
I took pictures of the process by which the carpet gets installed, especially that final bit of blue end zone.
To see something of what goes on, check out the series of images I
loaded this afternoon.

The crew tells me that the next few days will provide some further alterations, as concrete gets poured for the concessions

stands behind the press box.  And the lettering, include the Bobcat, will get glued to the field.

I will watch and plan to get more  photographs.

On October 15, I made another and quick photography walk around the Oak Bowl.  Over an inch of rain fell the night before, making not getting muddy pretty much impossible.

But the photographs from today's walk will give you a good idea of the continued progress--the crew hopes to have the field ready for action before the first of November.

The remainder of the construction, of course, will take longer.  But how cool to see how the new carpet really ties the Oak Bowl together, a line The Dude would appreciate.
